Back to Baroque - Vivaldi Recorder Concerto

Baroque Music Community and Educational Trust of New Zealand presents another season of Travel Through Time Chamber Series in Christchurch, Oamaru and Timaru for 2024!

The first mini tour will be "Back to Baroque". The program will include Vivaldi's Recorder Concerto in C major RV 443 featuring recorder soloist Luka Reardon with the University of Canterbury students’ ensemble led by Mark Menzies on violin and Tomas Hurnik on the cello. The concerts will also include other hidden gems of baroque music for the ensemble.

So come and enjoy this beautiful music performed by our very own talented New Zealand emerging artists!

Cash door sale also available

Luka Reardon is an Ōtautahi Christchurch-based artist, composer, oboist and recorder player. Her work includes notated compositions, graphic designs and audio-visual works, and she creates works designed to actively foster collaborative composer-performer relationships. Her works have since been performed and workshopped throughout the country - one of which being her “Sour” for ensemble, which won the 2022 University of Canterbury Lilburn Trust Composition Competition. She is a founding member of the Sælvage Collective, a contemporary ensemble of composer-performers hailing from Ōtautahi Christchurch and Ōtepoti Dunedin. She is a current Master of Arts student at the University of Canterbury, having graduated from the University of Canterbury School of Music with a Bachelor of Music in performance and composition in 2022.
